![]() ![]() No release date yet, but the game is available to wishlist on Steam right now, and it will be coming out on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch sometime in 2023. The Plucky Squire is in development by All Possible Futures, and of course will be published by Devolver Digital. It’s colorful, it’s playful, and looks like a breath of fresh air in this year’s sea of dark, violent sci-fi shooters. I honestly love the fact that I can’t pin down exactly what this experience will be like, because that likely means it will keep us on our toes the whole way through. The thing that has most people smitten with The Plucky Squire is the number of different gameplay features seen in the trailer, including a fighting mini-game and sidescrolling shooter just to name a couple, along with the gorgeous mixture of art styles.I’m always on the lookout for creative new titles that are doing things in games that we haven’t seen quite yet, and The Plucky Squire looks to be exactly that. You'll follow Jot as he traverses this mysterious new world, switching in and out of 2D and 3D to solve different puzzles and defeat the villain Humgrump. ![]() There were a few nifty titles, but it was The Plucky Squire by developer All Possible Futures that ended up stealing the show, a brand new action-adventure game that has players take on the role of Jot, a storybook hero who leaps out of his world into our three-dimensional one.Īccording to the game trailer's description, the villain of Jot's book doesn't seem too fond of being labeled as such, kicking him out of his own book to rewrite the story. ![]() Devolver Digital's yearly showcase was just as bonkers as everyone expected it would be, but that doesn't mean we didn't get to see some pretty great games. ![]()
